TASK 1: DRAWING WEEDS

Photographing weeds
My interpretation

REFLECTING: (what can weeds be a metaphor for in life?)
During the process of creating our weed sketch, I reflected on what value drawing weeds may have, including how they may present as a metaphor for aspects of life. For one, weeds could be a metaphor for class and society: Compared to the fruitful and "beautiful" plants which are purposely planted (upperclass), weeds are wild plant species, they grow independently and with no limitations, adapting to and invading any environment which they can survive in (lower class). They often need very little to sustain themselves. They are also often neglected as meager and insignificant. Oftentimes people attempt to filter out weeds only to be left with more visually appealing plant life.
